This watch is a limited edition Seiko Astron in collaboration with Doctors Without Borders, the independent international humanitarian medical organization working to address the most urgent medical needs. It operates in more than 70 countries to help people affected by conflict, natural disasters, or exclusion from the healthcare system.
This collaboration model was launched in 2021, on the 50th anniversary of Médecins Sans Frontières and the 140th anniversary of the founding of Seiko .
Now, the new model is a limited edition of 800 units from the Seiko Astron collection, decorated in the red hue of "Doctors Without Borders."
The translucent silver-white dial stands out with red accents on the inner dials, the chronograph hand and the bezel profile, as well as on the chronograph buttons.
On the bezel we also find glossy white ceramic, a material that we also see on the central row of the bracelet and at the tip of the crown.
The case back features the engraving “IN SUPPORT OF MÉDECINS SANS FRONTIÈRES” as well as the engraving “Limited Edition” with the serial number.
To complete the look, it's worth mentioning that the box is inspired by a first aid kit, matching the watch's colors. The box is made of 100% recycled polyester, as a further indication of our sustainability focus, and features a label with the MSF logo.
As for the technical specifications, the case is made of hardened titanium, measuring 43.3 mm in diameter and 13.4 mm thick. The bezel is made of ceramic steel and aluminum, and the crystal is a double-curved sapphire crystal with a super-clear coating.
The steel hands feature lumibrite for better visibility of the functions in the dark.
The bracelet is made of titanium with a triple folding safety clasp and a lug width of 14mm.
It has a water resistance of up to 100m (10ATM).
This Seiko Médecins Sans Frontières watch features a GPS Solar caliber 5X83 movement with a battery life of approximately 6 months (fully charged). It has 14 jewels and an accuracy of ±15 seconds per month (without receiving a GPS signal and at temperatures between 5°C and 35°C).
